The Guilty: American remake of the minimalistic Danish crime thriller

Something bad is about to happen.
Upcoming American crime thriller film directed and produced by Antoine Fuqua, from a screenplay by Nic Pizzolatto is a remake of the 2018 Danish film of the same name. Minimalistic, very intense teaser features a transcript of a 911 call, in which Gyllenhaal’s operator tries to help a woman who’s just been abducted. A police officer assigned alarm dispatch duty enters a race against time when he answers an emergency call from a kidnapped woman.
The original Danish film by Gustav Moller won that year’s Sundance Audience Award and Grand Jury Prize and was entry into the Foreign Language Oscar race.
It stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Ethan Hawke, Riley Keough, Christina Vidal, Eli Goree, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Paul Dano, and Peter Sarsgaard. The Guilty is scheduled to have its world premiere at the 2021 Toronto International Film Festival on September 11, 2021 and judging by the trailer we can not wait to see it.
