Hopefully Rogen and Goldberg’s New Superhero TV Show isn’t Super Bad!

Ha! Get it? Super Bad? Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are producing a new Superhero TV show for Fox about a very misleading job application and a tech genius vigilante.
Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are all about superheroes lately! After tackling Preacher, a little earlier this year, Rogen, Goldberg, and Eric Kripke (Supernatural, Timeless) all worked together to transform another Garth Ennis comic, The Boys, into a television series. Ennis is an amazing comic book writer, known for work on big name series such as  “The Punisher,” “The Incredible Hulk” in addition to his own. And now, they’re set for another dip in the Superhero TV show pool.
Who’s Behind the New Superhero TV Show?
Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s label, Point Grey Pictures, are back in the superhero game with a still-unnamed series for Fox, written by Mike Rosolio. Sony Pictures TV has a deal with Point Grey Pictures, so they will be working closely on the new single-camera series.
What is the premise of the series?
The story behind the series follows a young but incredibly ambitious woman who gets a job with a big-name technology company after graduating from MIT. The woman is a sort of assistant to the brains behind the company, an enigmatic tech super-genius. The tech wizard also happens to use his smarts and cash to become vigilante superhero and the young woman’s dedication to her job and her motivation to succeed rope her (unknowingly, at first) into a position as his sidekick. Will her competitive nature compel her to put up with his shenanigans to get a good reference on her resume, or will she be a straight-laced employee and book it when she realizes the truth? Who knows, maybe she’ll even become a superhero, too!
Final thoughts:
Knowing next to nothing about the series, I think Emma Stone could be hilarious in the role of the young woman as a headstrong, brilliant young woman willing to do anything to get ahead. And also, I miss Emma Stone. Is it just me or has she been off the scene for a minute? Who do you think would be a good crazy nerd genius/vigilante? Jesse Eisenberg was fun as a crazy villain in Batman v Superman, but could he be a good guy? Let me hear your thoughts!
