SYNOPSIS

Documentary telling how, in the years following WWII and with national pride and prestige at stake, countries competed to launch the most magnificent passenger ships. The Americans had the fast United States, the Dutch the elegant Rotterdam, the Italians the sleek Michelangelo, the French the symbolic France and the British the Queens Mary and Elizabeth.
