SYNOPSIS

Tales of triumph in the gymnastics, a discipline that combines strength, elegance and technical perfection, with athletes constantly pushing themselves and their sport to greater levels of difficulty both on the floor and on the apparatus. The USSR's Olga Korbut transformed gymnastics with revolutionary routines that risked everything in Munich in 1972, while Romania's Nadia Comaneci went one better by scoring the first perfect 10 in an Olympics at Montreal 1976. The same year, Japan's Shun Fujimoto competed with a broken kneecap to ensure his team won gold - an extraordinary story he recounts here - and Czech gymnast Vera Caslavska recalls her protest at the Soviet invasion of her country during the 1968 Mexico Games.
