SYNOPSIS

The newspaper launches a poetry competition, prompting several of the locals to put pen to paper - but jealous Ruby's malicious rumours about Laura and Daniel threaten to tarnish the contest. Meanwhile, Dorcas agonises over whether to tell Gabriel a heartbreaking secret about his late wife, and Queenie becomes despondent about the dwindling demand for her lace.
