SYNOPSIS

Judge Judy Sheindlin, a former judge from New York, tackles actual, small claims cases with her no-nonsense attitude in which damages of no more than $5,000 can be awarded. Also by her side is bailiff Petri Hawkins-Byrd who keeps order in the court. After a case is closed, the defendant and plaintiff briefly confront each other outside the court-room.
Beneath her entertaining quick comebacks and witty exterior, Judge Judy’s ability to cut through a dispute and get to the core of the emotional issue at hand, enables her to provide guidance, direction and common sense to those whose lives have spiralled hectically out of control, and helps to bring healing to families and victims of injustice.
