MariTeam: Tödliche Strandung

SYNOPSIS

The marine biologist Reno Finnings founded the Global Ocean Foundation (GOF) to save the seas, for which he is soliciting donations and support. His partner Pit Wagner leads a well-coordinated GOF team that looks after a protection zone off Mauritius. With state-of-the-art equipment and their research vessel, oceanographer Yuna and marine technician Morten monitor the reforestation of a coral reef. In order to designate a second protection zone nearby, Reno is looking to work with the powerful Minister Opaline and the luxury hotelier Aigner. However, his partner Pit vehemently rejects any ingratiation. Also the admission of the behavioral scientist for marine animals, Dr. Manuela Hauser in the GOF team creates tension between the founders. But there is hardly any time to resolve their pent-up conflicts. When a dead baby whale washes up on the beach, the marine activists track down a garbage scandal and other violations of the protective regulations. They will soon have to prevent mass extinction because the mother whale is desperately looking for the young. If she lost her orientation, she could lead the whole group of sperm whales to the beach - and thus to their death. A race against time begins for the GOF team.
