Wisconsin girl Sonny Munroe wins a nationwide talent search and moves to Los Angeles to star in the TV comedy sketch show So Random. Like many who visit Hollywood for the first time, she soon finds the place is not all it is cracked up to be, especially when the star of the programme takes an instant dislike to her.
