SINOPSIS
Clare Jackson examines how the Stuarts became fatally divided by religion, with brothers in opposition and two daughters supporting the overthrow of their father. After the Catholic James II was deposed by the Protestant William of Orange in 1688, Scotland lost its sovereignty and became part of Great Britain in 1707, while Ireland was reduced from a kingdom to a colony. Last in the series.
