TEMPORADA: 1
EPISODIO: 3 - The Silk Spinners
SINOPSIS
An exploration of how invertebrates' production of silk 300 million years ago became their greatest invention. Stronger than a steel thread of the same diameter, the material is as pliable as elastic and employed by spiders for activities as diverse as courtship, catching prey and tending their young. David Attenborough reveals how some communal spiders create silken palaces rising 15m to 20m into the forest canopy.
