POSTSCRIPT: From the bus terminal of Vyronas to the Art Theatre

SINOPSIS

The show is based on the memories of a young students winter walk in the early 1960s. The walk starts from the bus terminal of Vyronas on Akadimias Street, continues on Ippokratous Street and ends at Stoa Orfeos (Orfeos Arcade) and the Art Theatre. There are references to Athenian myths, well-known buildings and famous architects. At the intersection of Ippokratous Street and Panepistimiou Avenue, we witness visual material from the funeral of Charilaos Trikoupis in 1896, King Alexanders funeral in 1920, as well as footage of student demonstrations in favor of the Cyprus Cause in the mid-1950s. As we walk past Arsakeio School, we are reminded of the history of a very important building for Greek education. Finally, we are overcome with emotion by the legendary Art Theatre and the memory of the great teacher, Karolos Koun. The Athenian history and the little everyday moments on the streets make up a part of the citys history.
