SINOPSIS

After returning from an "angel maker", Erika collapses in front of her parents' house and is picked up by the emergency doctor, while Marie and George enjoy their first night of love. Back at base, George faces the racist harassment of Sergeant Hoskins. Marie is welcomed with open arms by her family despite the betrothal, but thrown out by Siegfried's mother Anneliese when she visits Erika in the hospital. Due to the complications after the abortion, Erika can no longer have children and tells her mother that she was raped when she tried to send her back to the Paulinenstift.
