SINOPSIS
In 1949 a 14 year old Maryland boy is pronounced possessed by the devil and then exorcised in a Catholic rite. It is the only exorcism in US history authenticated by the Catholic Church and it is the only such event also attended by physicians and psychiatrists. It is 30 years later when the the Alexian Brothers Hospital in St. Louis is slated for demolition that workers stumble across a diary belonging to a Jesuit priest - Father Raymond J Bishop. It tells a haunting tale of an eyewitness account of an exorcism that is carried out by a priest in collaboration with a medical doctor. Re-enacting the pivotal events in the hospital, the film examines how the boy got there and contemporary experts offer an explanation, including the Jesuit priest who attended the Exorcism. It's a story difficult to believe if not for its confirmation from so many sources including the Church and State.
