SINOPSIS

German military officer Wilhelm Grimm is tried for crimes committed during the Second World War, and his life and career is shown in a series of flashbacks. Returning seriously injured and disenchanted from the Great War to a village on the German-Polish border, his subsequent actions caused him banishment from the community and he is attracted to the Nazi Party.
