SINOPSIS
Denise Ho: Becoming the Song explores the openly gay singer's remarkable journey from Cantopop superstar to outspoken political activist. Born in Hong Kong and raised in Montreal, she became a top international recording artist in Asia until she was blacklisted in 2014 for her support of the pro-democracy Umbrella Movement in Hong Kong. As she reflects on her life's trajectory, the film follows Denise on the road as she tours the U.S., Canada and UK, while putting her life and career on the line in support of the struggle of Hong Kong citizens to maintain their freedom and democracy.
