Travel Man: 48 Hours in...: Tenerife

Richard Ayoade packs his bag and heads to the Canaries to discover what lies beyond the all-inclusive resorts of the volcanic island of Tenerife. Making the trip from Los Angeles to join him is writer, director and actor, Lena Dunham. Their mini break starts in the undiscovered north, where they check into a boutique hotel that was formerly the town's museum before heading out in search of authentic refreshment. Next stop is the Teide National Park, home to Spain’s highest peak and the third highest volcano in the world, Mount Teide. The intrepid travellers explore the barren lunar landscape, location of the 2010 remake of Clash of the Titans and where scientists tested the rover for the Mars mission.
