It wasn't until his honeymoon that Eddie realized he had found the one. Unfortunately, the lady in question was not his new wife... Eddie (Ben Stiller) is forty years old and has been resisting the attacks of his own father and best friend, who are pushing him hard to get married, for quite a few years. Not that Eddie hasn't had enough opportunities, but every one of his dates so far has had some "fundamental" flaw. As he, too, begins to feel the train derailing, he lets his guard down and proposes to his latest discovery, blonde environmentalist Lila (Malin Akerman), without touching her and finding some flaws in the beauty. Unfortunately, he only discovers the fact that his wife has more than is healthy on their honeymoon to a Mexican resort, where a romantic friend in the rain transforms into an unbearable creature who talks like a bricklayer, adores extreme sexual positions and has a very dark past. Misfortune never comes alone, and in this case he is accompanied by the beautiful Miranda (Michelle Monaghan), who has everything Eddie wants in a relationship and is single. Since she likes Eddie too, she doesn't have the heart to admit that he isn't completely uncommitted. The newly married man therefore faces an extremely difficult task - to subtly get rid of the horrible newlywed and not lose the girl of his dreams in the process...
