The Scottish competitors cook main courses after receiving tips from Matthew Pinsent, and Great British Menu veteran Jeremy Lee decides which of them goes through to face the judges on Friday. Barbecued veal with macaroni cheese, spinach and watercress, beef rump and terrine or loin of blackface lamb with sweetbreads are prepared by returning contestant Alan Murchison and newcomers Colin Buchan and Mark Greenaway.
