Inhalt:

Nakon bolne odluke da otkaže vjenčanje s Louisom, život u prelijepome mjestašcu Portwennu na atlantskoj obali na sjeveru engleskoga Cornwalla postaje još dramatičniji za dr. Martina Ellinghama. Louisa je dobila posao učiteljice u Londonu i Martin se počinje pitati što ga još drži u Cornwallu. Zasigurno ne ubitačno iritantni pacijenti. Zasigurno ne udvaranje ljekarnice Tishell.
