SINOPSIS

The engineer Králícek is helping his wife wash the dishes, and finds that water is leaking from somewhere. In another apartment, Mr. Drozd, a professor emeritus of natural history, teaches his wife how to iron trousers properly, which his wife has to correct. Next door, the young couple Stikas are expecting the arrival of their offspring, and Slávek, a doctor of philosophy, is doing the laundry. His cord is missing. But even when he manages to hammer a little bolt into the wall to pull the clothesline, water starts to leak from somewhere. Neighbours Drozd and Králícek, together with Stika, set about making repairs, while young Mrs. Stika goes into labor. What will come of it and who will solve the problem?
