SINOPSIS

Máirín Ní Mhurchú or Máirín na Yanks as she is known is Máirtín Tom Sheánín's guest on Comhrá this week. Máirín is from Cathair Scoilbhín in West Kerry. She never left the parish, except for one trip to Dublin to visit cousins. She speaks of her mothers death when she was three years of age and how her two aunts, who had recently returned from America, the Yanks raised her. She speaks also of small country shops and how they are becoming a thing of the past.
