SINOPSE

The presenter tells the story of the 17th-century residence in Derbyshire - the pleasure palace of playboy Cavalier and ambitious courtier William Cavendish. Through a collection of artworks and items held within the castle, Lucy uncovers a colourful tale, capturing the tensions of England in the 1600s that would eventually lead the nation to civil war.
