SINOPSE

Jonathan’s Caribbean adventure starts in the US Virgin islands - a complete touristy haven, Jonathan digs deep to find the hidden stories of the islands. From the inception of the transatlantic slave trade right in the islands, linked to the production of sugar; Jonathan seeks out the story of the original island inhabitants, the Taino. A deep hike into the jungle reveals Taino Petroglyphs, and the story pivots to the Dominican Republic. In the DR, Jonathan tracks down the modern day Taino descendants, partakes in ceremonies, and starts a new adventure to learn the modern story of DR; Hanging out with tobacco dons, hunting the elusive lionfish, learning bachata, Jonathan pin balls around Dominican Republic learning the island nation’s stories found only on the road less traveled.
