The Ganges with Sue Perkins: The Gangetic Plain

SINOPSE

The comedian finds herself halfway down the mighty river in the ancient city of Varanasi. Many travellers to India stop off in this extraordinary place to take in the sights for a day or two. Sue explores the life of its people, fishing with resourceful young men, trying handloom weaving and meeting an all-female vigilante group. But as she discovers, the city has a unique significance for India's 950 million Hindus. For them, the main reason to come here is to die.
