Patrick Grant and Esme Young set the seven remaining contestants the challenge of tackling techniques and garment styles from other cultures and continents. They begin with a hard-to-follow pattern for a Chinese qipao-style top that has an asymmetrical neckline, fiddly zip insertion and is made with a fabric that frays, then they are given the task of transforming saris into items of clothing with a distinctly Eastern flavour and by creating West Africa-inspired dresses.
