A sleigh-pulling Alaskan malamute needs both knees replacing with implants, but his owners are forced to make a difficult decision as he recovers from his first operation. Meanwhile, a springer spaniel is rushed into the surgery with a shattered jaw, so the vets decide to try something new to get him home in time for Christmas. Plus, a miniature dachshund with a deformed foot is given intensive physiotherapy, and Noel gets a surprise visitor.
