Macho sailor James Caan docks in Seattle for the night and gets involved with hooker Marsha Mason in this urban fairy tale from director Mark Rydell. The set up is intriguing enough as Caan plays pool against Mason with her body as the prize, and Rydell manages to give the ending a satisfyingly ironic twist, but the saccharine level may be unacceptably high for more cynical viewers.
