Aleksandr Sergejevič Puškin (1799. - 1837.) veliki je ruski književnik, tvorac ruskog književnog jezika. Umro je u dobi od samo 37 godina, no njegov je genij prepoznat već za života.
Teško je naći pisca čiji se doprinos toliko različito cijeni u zemlji i inozemstvu.
Ovaj dvodijelni dokumentarni film ne govori samo o Puškinovu životu nego i o Puškinovoj ulozi u povijesti ruske i svjetske kulture.
