SYNOPSIS

"Siva površina" je slika na kojoj je Marijan Jevšovar radio pune dvije godine, od 1960. do 1962., s namjerom da u materiji zabilježi proces i vrijeme njezina nastajanja. Pri tome je nastojao sačuvati govor slikarske materije, bez vanjskog sadržaja i bilo kakva ekspresionističkog iskaza. Kako je sam govorio, htio je naslikati 'ružnu' sliku.
