Great American Railroad Journeys: Lancaster to Gettysburg

SYNOPSIS

Michael Portillo takes a break from the railroad on the first leg of his latest journey, hitching a ride with the Amish on a horse-drawn buggy through rich countryside of Lancaster. He also joins his hosts as they sell quilts at auction. It's then on to Strasbourg, where he joins the crew of the oldest continuously operated railroad in the US, riding on the footplate of the vintage steam locomotive, before ending up in Gettysburg, the site of the famous American Civil War battle.
