Barney confides in Ted that he plans to propose to Patrice and swears him to secrecy, but Ted feels he should tell Robin what is happening, and asks her to be his date to the gala opening of the GNB building. Meanwhile, Marshall and Lily enjoy their first night away together since the birth of Marvin and intend to savour every moment, but end up feeling anxious about their son.
