SYNOPSIS

Turopolje je kraj nadaleko poznat po svojoj drvenoj arhitekturi. Zahvaljujući kvaliteti hrastovog drva, vještini domaćih majstora graditelja, te primjeni rustikalnog načina obrade, nastale su jedinstvene drvene kapele, turopoljske ljepotice. Njihovo postojanje seže još u srednji vijek, no većina sačuvanih datira iz 17. stoljeća. Do danas ih je ostalo sačuvano svega 11. Jedna od njih je i kapela Ranjenog Isusa u Velikoj Gorici. Drvene crkve i kapele Turopolja predstavljaju najviši domet narodnog graditeljstva barokne arhitekture na području sjeverne Hrvatske.
