SYNOPSIS

Biskup Josip Juraj Strossmayer, poznati mecena hrvatske kulture, odlučio je 1875. darovati svoju zbirku umjetnina i prvih 40.000 forinti za izgradnju zgrade u koju bi se zbirka smjestila.
Uz pomoć Hermana Bolléa 1880. Schmidt na Zrinjevcu podiže elegantnu dvokatnu neorenesansnu palaču.
