SYNOPSIS

September sees the end of the summer holidays and the Barry-Powers face an uphill battle in Cardiff to get eight-year-old Cerys back to school, while Hamish Mitchell Cotts is rushed off his feet in Suffolk trying to get his six children fed, watered and out the door. In the Gale household, 18-year-old Robson is off to study mechanics in Norfolk, while parents Simon and Sue go on a relationship course in Amsterdam, leaving Phoebe and Murray to fend for themselves. In Birmingham, Sue Evans is detoxing to prepare for a forthcoming date, and pensioners Marylyn and Wilfred Bradshaw throw caution to the wind and indulge in a sherry trifle at lunchtime.
