SYNOPSIS

The programme goes behind the scenes at Nasa to discover how the space agency is preparing for its most ambitious and daring mission yet - to land a manned craft on the surface of Mars. Reaching the planet would involve a journey of at least three years, and the film meets the scientists and engineers who are designing new rockets and spacesuits, as well as finding ways to help astronauts survive the perils of such a long voyage.
