SYNOPSIS

Although the giant squid is part of many legends and stories connected to the sea, a living specimen has never been seen. This documentary follows a team of 50 scientists, engineers and film-makers exploring the waters around Japan's Ogasawara Islands, deploying underwater robots and state-of-the-art submersible vessels to try to find and film a living specimen for the first time.
