SYNOPSIS

The weather is a staggeringly beautiful but destructive force, killing thousands of people every year. This programme features jaw-dropping footage of ordinary people surviving the deadliest weather. Europe's Heatwave Lucifer triggers some of the worst wildfires in Portugal's history, forcing a small village into a desperate fight against a 200-foot high inferno and pleasure boaters to rescue holidaymakers on the burning shores of a lake.
