Maura must curb Jane's emotions as the team investigates the disappearance of her former detective partner Dan Mateo's daughter Mandy, if front of his smart kid son Joe. While Korsak rules out Dan as suspect, a similar abduction victim is found, killed shortly before, possibly to be replaced. The case requires analyzing the whole serial killer logic and containing emotions, including Dan, a victim turned accomplice proving key.
