SYNOPSIS

Dorcas is blackmailed into selling the post office by the owner of the main sorting office in nearby Inglestone, which has been expanded by the arrival of the railway. As Daniel becomes involved in the campaign to prevent her meeting his demands, his passion for the cause reminds Laura of why she loves him and prompts the realisation her infatuation with Fisher has passed.
