SYNOPSIS

Pisac Martin Amis poznat je po jetkim romanima u kojima kao da skalpelom secira naš suvremeni svijet.
Amis istražuje osjećaj pripadnosti engleskom narodu opisujući zemlju traumatiziranu gubitkom kolonijalnog carstva i međunarodnog utjecaja.
Koristeći se blagom iz filmskih arhiva Britanskog filmskog instituta i BBC-ja, starim promidžbenim porukama i skicama te posebno snimljenim prizorima, film istražuje duboko ukorijenjene razloge propasti Amisove domovine kako je on doživljava: kronična opčinjenost kraljevskom obitelji, opsjednutost društvenim statusom, "problem zadovoljstva" kako ga Amis naziva, nasilje nogometnih huligana i ferplej u kriketu.
