SYNOPSIS

U Atlantskom oceanu, uz obalu Maroka, portugalski su pomorci 1418. otkrili arhipelag koji su nazvali Ilha da Madeira, šumoviti otok.
Madeira, koja se sastoji od istoimenog glavnog otoka i nekoliko popratnih otočića, pridružena je Europskoj uniji kao autonomna regija.
Ponekad nazivan i Plutajući vrt ili Biser Atlantika, arhipelag Madeira sa svojom suptropskom klimom neusporedive blagosti, krajolikom od kojeg zastaje dah s vulkanskim planinama i bujnom vegetacijom pravi je mali raj postavljen usred oceana.
