SYNOPSIS

Henri Rousseau općenito se smatra predstavnikom naivnih umjetnika. Njegov opus obiluje egzotikom premda Rousseau gotovo da nije putovao izvan Pariza. Njegova egzotika izmaštana je i stilizirana i temelji se na botaničkom vrtu i botaničkim časopisima toga doba. Spočitavaju mu kameno lice likova, nedostatak perspektive, prežive boje, naivnost i nemuštost, ali njegove slike, koje su na granici stvarnoga i fikcije, civilizacije i divljine, svejedno fasciniraju promatrača.
