SYNOPSIS

We’ve all seen the pictures from New York on 9/11. But across the country, in cities large and small, the chaos played out in a thousand different ways. This film details the events of that day from a different perspective - from America’s Heartland. The tragedy of September 11th had a different kind of impact outside of New York City and at the Pentagon. The rest of the nation could only look on and watch - and then react. Using only documentary evidence from that day, the story unfolds in its own time. From the blissful ignorance of the early morning breakfast news filler, to the sudden realization of what had happened in New York, to the desperate search for an explanation, this is the day as it unfurled on TV across the country. It’s a compelling story of bearing witness. It’s the story of September 11th - from the outside looking in.
