SYNOPSIS

James Penfield is an ambitious BBC journalist commissioned to write a book on Suez just as the Falklands conflict erupts. The film compares and contrasts the British and their attitudes at the time of the two events, with the climax at the Tory Party conference giving a damning view of English values.
