SYNOPSIS

Ann spends an eye-opening three days inside Halden as she meets staff, hears inmate's stories and judges for herself whether the level of luxury in the prison is justified. She even meets a former inmate who was once known as the most dangerous man in Norway.
Presenter Ann Widdecombe spends three days inside one of the most unusual prisons in the world, Halden Prison in Norway. The inmates of the world's most luxurious maximum-security prison share plush flats, dine on sushi and even record rap records. While its humane approach has been revered by some, Halden Prison has been accused by others of being too luxurious. Ann meets the staff, talks to inmates and seeks to find out whether this is the humane model for the future, or if the level of luxury is simply too expensive to justify.
