A university professor suspects the CIA killed a Hollywood screenwriter to protect a government secret. So he contacts a filmmaker to document the evidence he has accumulated. When they are warned to leave the case alone they become convinced of a cover up and travel to Los Angeles to find proof that the screenwriter did not die in a car accident. The story unfolds through the eyes of the filmmaker, William Westaway, who is extremely skeptical about conspiracy theories. Throughout the film becomes captivated by the mystery and captures a series of unpredictable events and scenes of genuine terror. The film begins by posing the question - Why would the CIA murder a Hollywood writer? And the filmmakers successfully answer it. But it is the bigger questions they unearth about the entertainment industry that the audience will be unable to forget.
