When returning to law is harder than he expected, Jeff Winger (Joel McHale) signs onto a lawsuit that takes him back to Greendale Community College, where he finds the study group struggling with their post-college lives, too. Though his Committee to Save Greendale starts as a ruse to get him access to school records, Jeff is persuaded to join the faculty, and his old friends re-enroll to help. As Troy (Donald Glover) leaves after accepting Pierce’s posthumous challenge to inherit a share of his estate, his friends launch a series of initiatives to make Greendale a better place. As their efforts put them at odds with the powers that be - and sometimes each other - they discover the school is being sold to the Subway sandwich chain. But their efforts to derail the deal expose a secret that stops the corporate takeover and the group lives to fight another day.
