SINOPSIS
Hammer's first Psycho-inspired thriller is the best the House of Horror ever made. Squeezing maximum shocks from a clichéd story - a plot to drive someone insane - Seth Holt dazzles with his direction and gives Susan Strasberg her greatest role as the disabled young woman haunted by her father's corpse at his French villa. Just when you think you know what's going on, Hammer veteran Jimmy Sangster's marvellous script takes another labyrinthine twist into the unknown. Shot in moody black and white, the creepy swimming pool scene is justifiably famous.
