There is no official release date yet for Netflix Luke Cage Season 2.
When it comes to just their superhero shows, Netflix already has a packed roster next year, and they show no sign of slowing down. They’ve just officially revealed that season two of Luke Cage is in the works, via a short video on the official twitter feed for the series.

Showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker wasn’t far behind with a tweet of his own.

After Daredevil and Jessica Jones, this is now the third Marvel / Netflix team up to get a second season. And though Netflix still hasn’t dropped the first season of Iron Fist (that comes on March 17, 2017) I’m calling it now that Iron Fist will also get a second season. Later in 2017, Netflix will also be releasing the first season of both The Defenders and The Punisher (I’m also calling that Punisher gets a second season. Call me Nostradamus!), and though there are no release dates or windows yet, season 2 of Jessica Jones and Season 3 or Daredevil are next, followed by more Cage.
So, What Do We Know About Luke Cage Season 2?
(Spoilers if you haven’t watched the first season of Luke Cage yet.) Well, so far, mostly just what we’re left with after Season 1. Along with Mike Colter as Cage, Season 2 should also be seeing the return of Coker as the showrunner, and Simone Missick as Misty Knight. Missick’s already been confirmed for first season of The Defenders, and unless something terrible and unexpected happens to the character there, she’ll be back. I expect Rosario Dawson‘s Claire will return as well (she’s also in The Defenders S1).
Villain wise, at the end of Luke Cage season 1, Alfre Woodard’s Mariah Dillard was still in play thanks to some great lawyers, and Theo Rossi’s Shades snuffing a key witness. So they’re also likely to play a role in Season 2. And Though Erik LaRey Harvey’s Diamondback was hauled off at the end, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him make an appearance as well.
Reviewing How Marvel’s The Defenders Are Shaping Up On Netflix
Marvel and Netflix’s Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage series have been a huge success for both companies and provided a breath of fresh air to the superhero genre. With Iron Fist completing the set of heroes and signifying the last installment before the group team up,  Marvel’s The Defenders is due in less than a year. Let’s take a look at what has made these shows such essential viewing.
Each show has had its own slant on the superhero origin story with complex villains, [Click here to read more...]
