Scott Bakula (Quantum Leap) stars as David Mitchell,a highly decorated undercover New York police officer who is ostracized by his fellow officers when he opposes the death sentence for an accused cop killer. Trying to break a local protection racket,he apprehends a cop killer, who turns out to be a powerful Mafia hitman. Thanks to Mitchell's collar, the thug stands to face the death penalty. Police learn the Mob has offered $50,000 for Mitchell. What they don't know is whether or not the money is a bribe, or a contract on his head.
